Overview
Evolve Storefront is a fully hosted, server-rendered storefront that sits in front of your existing BigCommerce catalog. You keep BigCommerce as your commerce backend, so products, prices, inventory, customers and orders all stay where they are. We run, scale and maintain the shopper-facing site for you.
What's included
| Hosting and scaling | We run your storefront, monitor it, and scale it to your traffic. There is nothing for you to deploy or patch. |
| Global CDN and HTTPS | Pages and assets are served from a content delivery network, over HTTPS, from day one. |
| Server-side rendering | Every page is rendered on the server, so search engines and social crawlers see complete HTML without running JavaScript. |
| The full shopper journey | Browse, search, product detail, cart, checkout, and shopper accounts with order history. |
| Light and dark mode | Both are supported, with a shopper-facing toggle you can turn off. |
| Accessibility | The storefront targets WCAG 2.2 AA. |
| Your branding | Your logo, colors and typography, applied to the storefront. |
| Evolve add-ons | Optional visual search, AI Virtual Try-On, and image optimization. |
Who owns what
This is the most useful thing to understand up front. Three parties change three different kinds of thing:

Day-to-day merchandising is BigCommerce work. Turning storefront features on and off and adjusting your palette is self-service. Anything that changes the storefront's code, such as new components, layout changes or a bespoke theme, comes to us.

Where your storefront lives
Your storefront is published at:
https://shop-<tenant>.evolvestorefront.com
<tenant> is your customer subdomain, the same value that appears in your Tenant Dashboard URL. You can point your own domain at your storefront instead; see Custom Domain & SSL.
Evolve Storefront supports BigCommerce. If you run a different commerce platform, contact us. Additional platforms are available on request.
The storefront ships in US English (en-US). Additional languages, and changes to any of the wording on the site, are available on request. See What You Can Customize.
